Here are the student films as well as personal projects that I had managed to complete during my time in University.

The Software Bug

September 2021 - Janurary 2022

I had an assignment that was to animate a funny story. The main goal of the assignment was to learn how to lip sync with Dragon Frame as well as learn more about the software to a higher degree.

I took the role of a leader as well as the script writer for this assignment.

This was a collaborative piece of work so we all got to animate shots for this film.

Farewell

January 2022 - May 2022

This was another group project that I had worked on in which, again, I took the role of a leader. This assignment focused more on storytelling since we all had really good experience with Dragon Frame. Due to this, I had the opportunity to experiment more with script writing as well as experimented with new mediums such as: video editing, storyboarding and creating the animatic.

In the Moment

This was the final group project that I had managed to work on in my final year. We were inspired by the story of Clive Wearing, who has one of the most severe cases of amnesia ever recorded.

I took the role of the leader, script writer and animator. The scene that I was able to animate was the Hospital Scene.

Puppet Animation Research (September 2022 - January 2023)

I really enjoyed the idea of the LAIKA shorts on YouTube trying to show personality through their puppets, so I decided to do the same myself. I found this puppet in one of the puppet rooms of the studio and decided to animate her in movements that I wanted her to do.
I really wanted to make her do really cute poses since I liked the idea of her being really shy. This personality came out really well even through her design.

However, after having complete this assignment, I felt as though it was best to use the biped armatures that the university offered.

Final year Project

January 2023 - May 2023

This was the final personal project that I had managed to work on in my final year. Since I was able to experiment with puppet animation in the previous semester, I decided to borrow the armatures from the University.

I realised that since I wanted to focus more on pure animation, I felt as though it wasn't necessary for me to create a puppet from scratch. However, even though I didn't make a puppet, I still had to add some padding to help clearly express the movement.

Thankfully for this project I was able to reach out to: Kevin Parry, Glenn Holberton and Chloe Rodham for research and advice.
